A&N Shoe Sale Finds

It's taken a while with my blogging hiatus and posts about other things, but I've finally gotten around to posting about my finds from the Army & Navy Legendary Shoe Sale, which I attended with MizzJ. This year's selection wasn't as good as that of previous years (see here and here for those recaps), but it didn't stop me from finding several pairs of shoes to round out my shoe collection.

Aside from beaches, hotels, and communal showers, I rarely wear flip-flops out and about. They just look sloppy to me! These Steve Madden sandals ($24.99) are a perfect compromise, combining the laid-back comfort of a flip-flop with the dressier vibe of leather and gold hardware. I've already started wearing them during the recent stretch of fantastic weather.

I was on the fence about getting these Steve Madden heeled white oxfords ($24.99) but in the end I'm glad I did. They're unlike anything else I own and I'm gleefully dreaming up outfits to wear with them!

The shoe sale has always struck me as a great source of heels, sandals, and ballet flats, but rarely do I spot a pair of boots. I snapped up these slouchy gray Steve Madden boots ($39.99) right when I saw them. My concern that they wouldn't fit over my calves faded when I was able to tuck my skinny jeans into them. Hooray! Since my other two pairs of boots are black, these will be a nice alternative in the winter months.

Did anyone else attend the shoe sale? What did you end up getting?

  5. That sale scares me - I don't know if I will ever attend. I can't shoe shop with my special footsies in a panic (unless it's flats!) and I have a feeling my size would always be gone. Everyone has tiny feet in this city!!

Love the sandals and boots btw! Esp the boots, perfect grey!

  8. This sounds like shoe heaven. & I swear, I have never thought gray was a better neutral than black until I got a pair of boots in that color. I wear them nearly every day in winter.

  10. Oooo so awesome! What great finds too! I know what you mean about flipflops- I usually feel the same way. They just don't feel like me when I wear them. Love the alternatives.

I did go again this year to the shop in New West after my finals were over, but I wasn't able to find anything that I liked or fit, so congrats on finding 3 pairs!!
