Today's Outfit: In The Nude

I like to think of this outfit as an irreverent smirk in the face of office dress codes everywhere. Granted, my office is very lenient when it comes to its employees' garb so I suppose I shouldn't be too irreverent. The white dress looks like it's exposing quite a bit of skin, but on closer examination, part of that "skin" is actually a beige cami. Sneaky, no? The layering on this outfit worked so well that one of the interns thought this was one dress instead of three separate pieces worn together.

  • Dress (Zara)
  • Cami (Uniqlo)
  • Skirt (some boutique on West 4th Avenue)
  • Sandals (Nine West)
  • Earrings (Justine Brooks)

  1. I'm a huge fan of layering, so I really love this outfit. I thought this was one dress as well, so the effect definitely works!

  3. I thought it was one piece at first too...Some designer is going to spy this and make a dress out of it. Nice work.

  6. Was the store on West 4th, VIVID? I used to work there, lol - holy they mark up their stuff!

I love the pairing of nude with white, glad to see I'm not the only one who does a skirt under a dress (though I tend to do it when the dress is a tad too short!!) - you look great Lisa.

  7. Wanderlusting, the skirt's from Jolie Madame. It's so tight I've never had the guts to wear it on its own, but it makes a great layer under flowy jersey dresses!

  11. That's what I call a stylish lady...being stylish is working with the garments and making them "YOUR OWN" You've certainly gone above and beyond that with this dress...
