Get Glowing With Mary Kay!

It's Skincare Week on Solo Lisa! I wear minimal makeup most days, but I try to be diligent about good skincare habits and love trying new products. With summer weather and the harsh effects of the sun and pollutants wearing on our complexions wherever we turn, now is a good time to take a look at products that protect and revive our skin. This week I'll be posting product reviews and special offers, starting with this exclusive offer from Mary Kay.

Remember the Mary Kay TimeWise Night Solution I reviewed in April? After using it for 4.5 months and loving the results, I recently re-ordered another bottle of this miracle serum from my Mary Kay consultant, Angela Dean. Angela also told me about the TimeWise Day Solution when I re-ordered: "The combination offers to help protect and restore your skin to a more youthful appearance with this day and night duo. When used together, TimeWise® Day and Night Solutions deliver our exclusive Pronewal™ system around the clock with crucial protection during the day and boosted renewal at night." Translation? SPF protection during the day, nourished skin at night, and a luminous, energized complexion 24/7.

Exclusively for Solo Lisa readers! From now until August 30th, 2009, mention "Solo Lisa" when you order the TimeWise Day/Night Solution Set from Angela and get 25% off; that's $69 for the set (marked down from $92). You have one month from the date of purchase to try the product, and if you're not satisfied with it, return the Solution Set to Angela for a full refund.

Don't have cash to spare for skincare products? Not to worry: If you're a US resident, you're eligible to enter my Perricone MD giveaway contest. The contest is on for another week, so leave a comment on my giveaway post and enter asap!

  1. Yippee for discounts! Just a quick question: do they use non-harmful ingredients in Mary Kay products? I'd love to try the night serum if they do!

  2. question- would this skin care regimen be good for skin that is prone to acne? I need something because my skin looks so dull and uneven, but if I stop using the acne products I get nasty zits... I need some advice. I want the glowy/dewy skin and just can't get it, without provoking a full-on breakout :(

  3. I love Mary Kay! I think I have tried some of their timewise products before but never these two. Are they good for all skin types? I think in general my skin is normal/combo.

  8. Lisa you always hook us up! Thank you so much!! I have to try some Mary Kay...my question is the same as the lovely Asian Cajuns-non harmful?

    XOXO

  9. Asian Cajuns and Elizabeth Marie, can you clarify what you mean by "non-harmful"? As in bad for the environment or bad for your skin? Re. the environment, I'm not sure (I can't imagine it being worse than most conventional beauty products). Re. the skin, I can only speak to my own experiences and I've only experienced positive results with the Night Solution. This stuff clarified my skin and reduced my time-of-the-month breakouts without any harsh effects like overdrying or irritation.

Meli22, I have acne-prone skin too and I use a topical prescription lotion on my face twice a day. In my case, it isn't caused by inherent problems with my skin so much as poor eating habits and a slight hormonal imbalance. If your acne is more severe or cystic acne, results may not be as dramatic but I think it'll still make a difference. At night, I apply my acne lotion on my face after cleansing, let it absorb into my skin for 5 minutes, then apply the Night Solution on top. As I said above, doing this nightly has really improved my skin.
