Perricone MD Giveaway Contest!

Makeup offers a lot of fun with bright colours and artistic experimentation, but at the end of the day, I think proper skincare habits matter more. Most days I'd rather wear a bit of concealer, blush, and mascara and be good to go rather than cake on foundation and powder to disguise a poor complexion.

I was therefore very excited when Perricone MD, a leading US cosmeceuticals company, contacted me about holding a giveaway contest! The prize is their Advanced Eye Area Therapy product, which retails for $95 and boasts vitamin C ester (a powerful patented antioxidant), alpha lipoic acid, and DMAE. This miracle eye cream promises to diminish fine lines and wrinkles and reduce puffiness and dark circles--pretty amazing stuff and perfect for taking care of the delicate skin in your eye area.

To enter, you must:
  1. Be a US resident (sorry, Canadian and international readers).
  2. Leave a comment on this post answering this question: What do you do to take care of your skin? (This step is required.)
  3. Re-tweet the contest on Twitter with @sololisa in the tweet. (This step is optional and gives you a bonus entry.)
To get you started on the skincare discussion, I'll give you a sneak peek at my routine:
  • In the morning, I cleanse my face with Garnier Pure Daily Cleansing Gel, then apply a topical acne prescription and Neutrogena SPF 30 moisturizer.
  • I apply Lubriderm SPF 15 lotion before I leave the house.
  • At night, I cleanse my face with the same cleanser. Afterward, I apply the topical acne prescription and Mary Kay TimeWise Night Solution. I use the Garnier Pure SOS Anti-Blemish Spot Pen on any breakouts and NeoStrata Spot Lightener on little scar and pigmentation spots, and I dab moisturizer around my eyes.
So, what's your skincare routine? Leave me a comment and enter today. The contest ends on Monday July 27th at 11pm Pacific Time. Good luck everyone!

  1. I have really dry skin. Before bed each night, I wash all the make up off my face with moisturizing disposable face clothes and remove all eye make up with grape water. After cleansing, I typically give it a another go with a scrub of some kind before finishing with an overnight intense moisturizing cream.
Morning's involve a refreshing wash/mask that I apply in the shower, and a healthy dose of SPF20 moisturizer.

  4. My skincare routine is pretty simple: I wash my face three times a day with Dove soap, use Neutrogrena pore cleanser to minimize those oversized pores, use on-the-spot acne medication for any visible pimples, avoid sweating, and wear SPF 20 sunscreen everyday.

My family all does the same routine, and most people think that my grandmother is my mother! (even at 70!) She'd be thrilled to try this product.

  8. I use toner at night, and in the day I use Dr. Miracle's acne system. Then I moisturize with this Eucerin Everyday Protection face lotion with 30 spf. I wear makeup when I go to work, but I clean it off as soon as I get home.

  9. I should really take better care of my skin then I do. This product sounds great for getting ride of dark circles. I wash my face in the shower in the morning, and if I remember before I go to bed I moisturize.

  10. My skin is really dry, and it breaks out really easily so it's important for me to keep it balanced:

At night, I wash my makeup off with an makeup cleanser (no oil!), and then use a cleanser that has a rich foam. I then wipe off any dead skin with a clear lotion, moisturize with a toner, then use a lotion to keep the moisture in.
Ooh, and since I go out in the sun all the time (and am a freckly mess!) I make sure all my makeup has SPF, and treat myself to a once-a-month easy mask: cotton drenched in toner for 5 min.

  11. I have a nightime routine I go through with my skin. I was all my makeup off using an exfoliating facewash. I then take off my eye makeup with remover. Next, I go over my skin with a toner. Finally, I lather on some lotion so it doesn't dry out! It's quite a process!

Also, SO FUNNY that you reccommended "B" Cosmetics! I just found that store the other day and loved their bejeweled eyeshadow pots-- I'm bringing one back for my make-up loving sister!

  17. well i have tricky skin... but I wash my face with dove pink soap (cause I have combo oily/dry skin) 2x a day. I put on duac in the morning and differin at night. I also use Locoid Lipocream for dry spots that may pop up. I do a face scrub about 2-3x a week and this amazing Khiel's facemask at least once!

I would love to try this product and see how it works!

  18. I have pretty dry skin that also breaks out so there is a lot of Clean & Clear moisturizer with salicylic acid involved in my routine, usually followed by a second moisturizer selected according to season.

I also have every single risk factor for skin cancer so there is a lot of sunscreen in the morning.

At 26 I'm starting to think about wrinkles too!

  19. I unfortunately don't do too much now. I remove my make up and wash with normal soap and moisturize every morning.

  20. I wash my face in the morning and after my shower during the day, and at night I use acne junk to stay clear. Pretty standard, so I really want to try Perricone's products for something new!

  24. I don't over-wash it. I cleanse it once a day at the end (in the morning I just splash some water on and do a bit of toner). I moisturize twice a day, and I use eye cream on both my eyes and lips.

  27. I drink a ton of water daily. I used to drink a lot of soft drinks. I really noticed a big difference in my skin since I cut the soft drinks and replaced with water. I never use soap on my skin, I use foaming cleanser. I use day and night creams religiously.

  30. ok- I have skin that is prone to breakouts. I wash every morning with clearsil ultra acne scrub, and at night I wash it with clean and clear cream cleansing wash. After washing my face, I apply Neutragena Acne Stress Control hydrating acne treatment. This only helps the issue- it doesn't stop the acne problem completely. I still get zits once in a while, and I get a lot of black heads in the nose, white heads in the chin. : ( If I use astrigent or anything harsher, I get really rough patchy skin. I need moisture but I can't use most stuff or I break out. On top of all this, I have mild eczema so some things can really irritate my skin.

  31. I heard from a Mary Kay rep that you can tack on signs of age by simply not washing your face every night.

I try to be pretty proactive with sunscreen, and I love Zia naturals toner before bed...

  32. That sounds amazing! (And luckily, I am a US resident with a US mailing address).

Unfortunately, I do very little for my skin. I put on plain moisturizer at night and sunscreen in the morning, but that's it! My routine could definitely use a kick in the rear.

  33. Besides trying to eat right, get enough sleep and stay out of the sun as much as possible...

I also, use products I trust to try and ward of wrinkles and regenerate my skin.

At night after cleansing, I use a combination of ROC cream, Olay Regenerist night cream and Bio Oil.
