Today's Outfit: Nothing Like A Sundress

  • Dress (some boutique on W. 4th Ave.)
  • Stud earrings (Claire's)
  • Shoes (O Oscar de la Renta)
  • Purse (Chanel)
Despite the ubiquitousness of sailor stripes, lacy tops, layered looks, and hipster everything this summer, I still think that there's nothing quite like a perfectly fitting sundress in a fun pattern to make you feel pretty when the mercury rises. It's the simplest outfit you can imagine--just throw it on and go--but you look put-together despite the minimal effort. I wore this halter number to the most recent Holt Renfrew event I attended. It's 4-5 years old and definitely an attention-grabber because of the feminine silhouette and the bold pattern, so I try to keep accessories to a minimum.

Do you have a "I'm having a lazy day and need to look put-together instantly" dress in your closet? Many of these dresses? Do share!

  4. Oh, I love that colorful print! And the dainty shoes as well! I actually think most dresses are great to just throw on and make you feel instantly pretty. They're definitely the no-brainer outfit for me.

  9. You looked lovely Lisa! Believe it or not, I only own three dresses (not counting tunics or shirt-dresses). I don't know why... My near-future resolution is to fix that problem.

  13. I have several dresses that fit that criteria! One of my favourites is a red and white polka dot dress in a 50s silhouette. It is nipped in at the waist and barely grazes my lower body because of its full skirt. I throw it on with gold flats and gold jewels, and then I'm out the door!
