Zara Double-Breasted Raincoat

Is it weird that I'm thinking of trenches when we're in the midst of summer? Not when the weather forecast this week calls for rain. I love the idea of a short trench: it combines the polished chic of a long trench coat with the sporty ease of a jacket or blazer, and it looks particularly charming with trousers and jeans. Zara's spin on the short trench uses a smooth mid- to heavy-weight cotton that feels much more expensive than its price tag, and it features all the earmarks of a classic piece of outerwear. Think shoulder epaulets, burnished buttons, double-breasted styling, a belt and a back vent. Yes, not bad at all for under $80.

  1. I was really considering getting a trench coat at Zara. It will definitely come in handy as Vancouver summers will still have chances of showers here and there. The cropped look is perfect for the shorter people like me : )

Let me know if you do end up getting one!

  3. i love her whole outfit. It was raining like crazy in NY yesterday, and with most of my days spent in the office, I barely feel like it's summer anyway. I'm totally ready for a trench, and this one is cute, especially paired with skinny pants and flats

  4. Danielle, I ended up getting this exact one! Pretty decent in terms of quality. It comes in navy or a light blush pink hue.

  7. The shorter trench is so chic. And a lot more practical if you need to take it on and off. I wonder if this is part of their 'Woman' or 'Basic' line. I hope it's the former, because the Basic trenches tend to fall apart very quickly.

  8. Haute World, it's from the Basic line but it looks and feels like it won't fall apart super quickly. I guess it's hit and miss; I have tank tops from the Basic line that have lasted years.

  11. What's not to love about Zara? Strangely, I've gotten so used to our rainy summer, wardrobe-wise at least. I don't even mind it that much.
