Luxe or Less: Leopard Love

By now, it's probably safe to say that leopard isn't a trend so much as a classic in the making. In fact, some of its proponents claim that leopard print is a neutral and goes with anything. I don't think I'm bold enough to do an all-over leopard print trench coat or dress, but a shoe, bag or fun accessory is quite fetching with an otherwise neutral ensemble.

Picture a leopard shoe with skinny jeans, cigarette pants or a pencil skirt. Imagine how good a little leopard bag would look with a black blazer or navy trench coat. Think about how chic you'd feel with a leopard skinny belt cinched around your waist, or a silken scarf tied around your neck. Add a dash of leopard to your wardrobe, and you open up a whole new world of possibilities. Luckily, there are stylish pieces available at many price points.

  1. i love leopard print and find it to be such a classic in the fall. I have quite a bit of leopard print in my closet - purse, scarves, belt, shirt, blouse, tanks, flats...
of course, I don't wear it all together, now that would be just silly ;)
    great post Lisa!

  2. Love the leopard purses! Well, I actually own a pair of leopard pants that resemble somewhere between harem pants and trousers (the fit). It's interesting cause I got them at a vintage store and they are stirrups! I have yet to wear them. AND.. I found a brand new pair of Steve Madden leopard flats at Value Village recently. They were priced at under $20 I believe. Didn't get them. Great deal!! I just couldn't justify buying them since I'm trying to save money for
    better shoes.

Thanks Lisa for sharing these awesome finds!

  3. you are right at leopard being classic in the making. to be honest, it is still not my fav but perhaps a pair of shoes will be okay.

  4. I love everything about this post! But I also think that leopard is a neutral (when it comes to my closet).
Those House of Harlow shoes would love to call my feet home

mentally scanning my closet, i realise i've a few black/grey leopard print variations, but none of the classic print. i'll need to change this!

  7. I love leopard. I love it classic and in other colours (like Lanvin's blue 4-5 seasons ago).

Meli Melo bags are amazing little things (I still adore my tan tassel one) but that Zara fascinator just made my day.

  8. Leopard love - yes! I took a big game and bought ... leopard harems!! Not sure if I'm gonna keep them though - I'm starting to chicken out in wearing them!

  9. I was a leopard print freak in my early 20's. I had everything leopard and all my friends associated the leopard print with me. I had shoes, duvet, makeup bag, everything you name it.

I am really kicking myself for:

    1) getting rid of all my leopard print stuff from back in the day and;

    2) not buying the Cole Haan leopard flats I saw in San Jose back last November

I bought an infinity scarf and I hope to get heels or flats. I don't think I am going to over do it. Well, maybe I want a clutch too.
