JAC Fall/Winter 2012 Show

After Jacqueline Conoir showed its fall/winter 2012 collection (which I blogged about yesterday), it was sister line JAC's turn to wow the crowd. Compared to the classic sophistication of Jacqueline Conoir, JAC had a distinctly younger, hipper downtown vibe about it. Some of the pieces would look right at home in Gastown, most likely worn by a pretty young thing sipping a cocktail at a trendy bar or grabbing brunch on Sunday morning.

There were quite a few pieces to love in JAC's newest collection: long chunky scarves; silky and slouchy blouses, trousers, and dresses; faux fur vests (including an ombré one that proved to be quite the crowd-pleaser). But the outerwear in this collection was the true star. A moto jacket done in wool with leather sleeves, a voluminous camel coat, a brown tweed topper with a leather buckle detail at the neck--it's hard to pick a favourite.

Sister lines can sometimes fall flat (or worse, resemble the original lines so much that they cannibalize the market share held by their predecessors). It's nice to see JAC developing a distinct identity compared to Jacqueline Conoir.

  1. Thanks for introducing me to a line I wasn't familiar with. There were so many pieces that I'd love to add to my wardrobe!

  2. I actually like JAC a lot more than the traditional JC line, I would wear just about every piece from this collection! Love the slightly deconstructed feel to a lot of the pieces, they seem like they'd be such easy and comfortable pieces to wear! Hope you're having a good week love.
