Weekending

Last weekend was, quite simply, one of the best I've had in a long time. The boy and I went down to Coupeville to check out the Penn Cove Mussel Festival, aka an excuse to hang out in Coupeville, WA, and soak up the quaint small town atmosphere while gorging on the tenderest, sweetest mussels imaginable.

We arrived too late for the chowder competition, but I did get a chance to chow down on the coconut green curry mussels at Front Street Grill. We explored the beach, browsed the kitschy shops around the historic downtown wharf, and took a boat tour of the mussel farm rafts in the cove. All this fun was made even sweeter by a Trader Joe's pit stop on the way home, where the boy and I stocked up on snacks and pre-prepped meal ideas in preparation for the busy week ahead.

While Saturday was spent day-tripping to the US, Sunday was all about hanging out in our own neighbourhood. Brunch at Thyme to Indulge, fresh blooms from Flower Factory...I love being able to stroll up Main St. just minutes away from the condo while the sun is shining, and getting my errands done in such a leisurely way.

All of this was last weekend. What does this weekend hold in store? Follow along on Instagram and find out.
