Product Review: Megababe Deodorant

Megababe Rosy Pits Daily Deodorant

What does self-care look like while in quarantine? For me, it has been sweaty Bar Method classes via Zoom, followed by a refreshing shower that feels oh so good and a few swipes of Megababe Rosy Pits Daily Deodorant ($14). In my quest to try different natural deodorants, I picked up this new-to-me product during my last trip to Seattle, before COVID-19. Megababe Rosy Pits has since become one of my favourite body care essentials.

As far as looks, scent, and texture go, Megababe delivers a sensory product experience that sparks joy. The sweet yet slightly retro packaging (pink screw-top cap, 70s font, turquoise and orange accents) looks great in my medicine cabinet. It has a powdery rose scent—clean, floral, not too strong—that fades within 1-2 hours. I don't need heavy-duty odor protection (thank you, Asian genes), just a little something to keep me from smelling stale or sweaty or less than fresh, and Megababe has delivered in that respect. The gel-like solid also applies nicely, gliding on in a thin layer with zero white residue or crumbling.

Its ingredients list is impressive for natural deodorant newbies, but is basic table stakes for the rest of us. The cruelty-free formula has no baking soda (no irritation!), aluminum, or parabens. Hero ingredients include aloe, coconut oil, corn starch, and vitamin E alongside a slew of natural extracts. At $14 USD, it's pricier than a drugstore deodorant or antiperspirant and about average for a natural deodorant. However, the formula goes on so thinly that it lasts a surprisingly long time (I've had mine for months now and I've barely used it). All the better for me to enjoy that post-shower "I smell like roses!" moment.

P.S. Looking for more natural deodorants to keep you smelling fresh while WFH or doing your at-home workout? Check out past reviews here, here, here, and here.

  1. Thanks for all the great information you provide in such a vivid manner. I use AG, you reminded me why I started buying. I did want to add that their Control for dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis is very good. It's so gentle on your hair with a pleasant smell. As a consumer I am very happy with the results. It is an embarrassing condition to have. Being able to get good products along with the apple cider vinegar causes less worry.
Thanks for your sense heightening reviews. It's very helpful.
