Lazy Girl Approved: Garnier Serum Cream SPF 30

A bottle of Garnier Brightening Serum Cream Pinea-C SPF 30 lies nestled in a bouquet of yellow roses.

Lazy Girl Approved highlights long-lasting, goof-proof, fuss-free products that can fit into the most minimalist of regimens. If you consider yourself a low-maintenance beauty lover, these product reviews are for you!

Pre-pandemic, one of my favourite evening activities was lining up my entire nighttime skincare routine on the coffee table and doing it bit by bit while watching Netflix. It felt like such a treat to have this moment of stillness and homebody coziness between work, barre, and chores. But now that we're over a year into staying home so much, what was once a pleasurable routine has become kind of a drag. I've been looking for ways to streamline my morning and evening skincare routines wherever possible, embracing skinimalism and multi-purpose products like Garnier Green Labs Brightening Serum Cream SPF 30 - Pinea-C ($22.99, available at London Drugs, purchased by me).

Lazy Girl Approved: Dermalogica Rapid Reveal Peel

Dermalogica Rapid Reveal Peel

Did you know that you could be over-exfoliating or under-exfoliating? That was my main takeaway after attending an exfoliation masterclass hosted by my longtime facialist, Kathryn Sawers of Collective Skincare. If you take a closer look at your skincare routine, you might be surprised by all the sources of exfoliation there are. Scrubs provide physical exfoliation, while many of the cleansers, toners, and moisturizers that promise to "renew" skin and improve tone and texture contain acids that act as chemical exfoliants. And then there's retinol, which is (you guessed it) also an exfoliant. All of this is enough to trigger skin irritation at worst or serious consumer confusion at best. So what would a Lazy Girl to do? She'd turn to a quick, easy-to-use product like the Dermalogica Rapid Reveal Peel ($12 for a single tube, or $116 for the kit at Varnish) that's guaranteed to work.

Lazy Girl Approved: Hot Tools Signature Series One-Step Blowout Volumizer

Lazy Girl Approved highlights long-lasting, goof-proof, fuss-free products that can fit into the most minimalist of regimens. If you consider yourself a low-maintenance beauty lover, these product reviews are for you!

Vancouver beauty, life and style blogger Solo Lisa tests the Hot Tools Signature Series Hair Styler (exclusive to London Drugs) on her shoulder-length Asian hair to determine how this hair styling tool measures up to the much loved Revlon One-Step styling brush.

Has anyone else noticed changes to their hair texture as they've gotten older? My hair used to be a lot straighter and smoother in my 20s, but these days it seems curlier and frizzier all over. That's why a couple months ago I purchased the Revlon Pro Collection Salon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer ($64.99 on sale for $51.99 at London Drugs) after reading hundreds of rave reviews online. I LOVED how fast and easy the Revlon brush was and how much it cut down on frizz, but then at the recent #LDBeauty event I was introduced to the near-identical Hot Tools Signature Series One-Step Blowout Volumizer ($89.99 exclusively at London Drugs). How did this new tool stack up against the OG Revlon styling brush? Is the Hot Tools version worth the higher price tag? All the details after the jump!

Annabelle Perfect Cream Blush and Highlight Sticks detail shot of product texture and colour

Seriously, what is more goof-proof and fuss-free than drawing on your face with a giant crayon and blending with fingertips? So portable, so easy, and best of all, no makeup brushes to wash. When I first glimpsed the Annabelle Perfect Cream Blush ($9.99 at London Drugs) and Annabelle Perfect Cream Highlight ($9.99 at London Drugs) at last year's London Drugs #LDBeauty preview, I knew they were automatically Lazy Girl Approved, and at less than $10 a pop, they're also true Drugstore Delights.

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Underpainting Colour Correcting Palette 25 for light skin

Of the Lazy Girls who wear makeup daily, many would probably list concealer among their essentials along with mascara, some sort of brow product, and tinted lip balm. Colour correctors, alas, are more of a "if we remember to pack/use them" and "more trouble than it's worth" item—until now, that is. Enter the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Underpainting Colour Correcting Palette ($53)!

Flatlay featuring Conair Metá e Metá (Half & Half) Infiniti Pro

As a bona fide Lazy Girl when it comes to hair and beauty, my T3 straightening and curling irons rarely trip the light fantastic—so why do I have both of these tools, and expensive versions at that? If only something like the new Conair Metá e Metá (Half & Half) Infiniti Pro ($139.99 on sale for $129.99 at London Drugs) had existed back when I was shopping around for hair styling appliances. This versatile two-in-one device not only cuts down on the number of hair appliances one needs, it takes the guesswork out of creating perfect waves. Oh, and it probably goes without saying that it's perfect for DIY hairstyles over the holiday season or as a gift idea. You'll want to bookmark this review!

Olay Luminous Brightening & Protecting Lotion With Sunscreen SPF 30

My Lazy Girl approach to beauty has always been to take care of my skin and go easy on the makeup. Often that means my medicine cabinet is cluttered with countless mists, toners, serums, and lotions for every occasion. While that works very well when I'm at home, traveling is another story altogether. My strategy? Streamline my skincare as much as possible and opt for multi-taskers like Olay Luminous Brightening & Protecting Lotion With Sunscreen SPF 30.

Lazy Girl Approved highlights long-lasting, goof-proof, fuss-free products that can fit into the most minimalist of regimens. If you consider yourself a low-maintenance beauty lover, these product reviews are for you!

Conair Infiniti Pro The Ultimate Brush

There are girls in this world who willingly wake up an hour early just to wash their hair, then painstakingly dry and style it into pin-straight submission or perfectly tousled waves. Alas, I am not one of them, which means I often roll into work with not-so-artful bedhead-y frizz, a sad ponytail, or a topknot if my hair is long enough for it. If you're anything like me, you'll love the Conair Infiniti Pro The Ultimate Brush ($39.99 at London Drugs) as much as I do.

Lazy Girl Approved highlights long-lasting, goof-proof, fuss-free products that can fit into the most minimalist of regimens. If you consider yourself a low-maintenance beauty lover, these product reviews are for you!

Pantene Pro-V 3 Minute Miracle Moisture Renewal Deep Conditioner

Who has time to let a hair mask fully penetrate parched strands for 10-15 minutes before rinsing? Not me—most days I'm either showering very quickly post-barre class or before heading to work in the mornings. Luckily for me and other chicas in a rush, Pantene Pro-V 3 Minute Miracle Moisture Renewal Deep Conditioner ($5.98 at London Drugs) delivers the impressive results of a hair mask in considerably less time.

Kiss Nail Art Stickers Halloween Edition

Like many Lazy Girls out there, I lack patience and skill when it comes to nail art. When micellar water first came out, Lazy Girls everywhere were probably going "WHAT?? A way to wash my face without actually washing my face?!? What is this molecular marvel!?" Lazy Girl Approved: Jergens Moisturizer For Wet Skin

Lazy Girl Approved highlights long-lasting, goof-proof, fuss-free products that can fit into the most minimalist of regimens. If you consider yourself a low-maintenance beauty lover, these product reviews are for you!

Jergens Moisturizer For Wet Skin

Lazy Girls always seem to have some excuse for skipping post-shower moisturizer, whether it's the fact that lotion can take a long time to rub into skin and absorb properly, one too many snooze alarms in the morning, or a speedy gym-to-cocktail-hour routine that leaves little time for "non-essentials." Well, no more: Jergens Moisturizer For Wet Skin ($9.99 at London Drugs) has been out for some time now and it's safe to say this product is a game-changer.

Lazy Girl Approved: Revlon Treat & Boost Nail Treatment

Lazy Girl Approved highlights long-lasting, goof-proof, fuss-free products that can fit into the most minimalist of regimens. If you consider yourself a low-maintenance beauty lover, these product reviews are for you!

Revlon Treat & Boost Nail Treatment

I have a tendency to pick at manicures as soon as they start to chip or peel—not too bad when it comes to regular nail polish, but devastating where a Shellac gel manicure is concerned. That's why for the past few weeks I've been laying low on the #manimonday Instagram posts and using Revlon Treat & Boost ($6.99 on sale for $3.99 at London Drugs) instead as I grow out the self-inflicted damage. Then I kind of got hooked on the Revlon nail treatment out of sheer laziness and began neglecting nail polish altogether; you'll see why it's easy to do so after the jump!

Lazy Girl Approved: Amaterasu Liquid Eyebrow Liner

Lazy Girl Approved highlights long-lasting, goof-proof, fuss-free products that can fit into the most minimalist of regimens. If you consider yourself a low-maintenance beauty lover, these product reviews are for you!

Amaterasu Liquid Eyebrow Liner

Lip gloss, mascara, and eyeliner used to be the products that Lazy Girls cited most often as the ones they'd never leave the house without, even if the rest of their faces were makeup-free. Now that's shifted to brow products, and for good reason. Brows—like fluttery lashes or the perfect "my lips but better" shade of pink lipstick—add effortless polish to a 5-minute face, especially when you're using something like Amaterasu Liquid Eyebrow Liner ($30 at BeautyMark).

Lazy Girl Approved highlights long-lasting, goof-proof, fuss-free products that can fit into the most minimalist of regimens. If you consider yourself a low-maintenance beauty lover, these product reviews are for you!

ILIA Silken Shadow Stick eyeshadow crayon

I never wake up motivated or organized enough to apply eyeshadow as part of my daily makeup look. It's just too much work, and frankly, I'd rather hit the snooze alarm one more time. One way to make eyeshadow less of a hassle is to get a goes-with-everything neutrals palette that corrals together primer, tools, shades, and liner; the other way is with an eyeshadow crayon, like the newly launched ILIA Siliken Shadow Stick ($37 each at BeautyMark).

Lazy Girl Approved: Laneige BB Cushion SPF 50+ Compact

Lazy Girl Approved highlights long-lasting, goof-proof, fuss-free products that can fit into the most minimalist of regimens. If you consider yourself a low-maintenance beauty lover, these product reviews are for you!

Laneige BB Cushion SPF 50+ Compact

Cushion compacts have been all the rage in Korea for a while now, revolutionizing the way Korean women apply foundation and BB cream, but it wasn't until recently that I had the chance to try one for myself. Korean skincare and beauty brand Laneige just launched at Sephora Canada and invited me to try a handful of cult faves, including the Laneige BB Cushion SPF 50+ ($44). After using mine for the past month or so, I can definitely see what all the fuss is about. More about why the Laneige BB Cushion is Lazy Girl Approved after the jump!

Lazy Girl Approved: MAC Vamplify Lip Gloss

Lazy Girl Approved highlights long-lasting, goof-proof, fuss-free products that can fit into the most minimalist of regimens. If you consider yourself a low-maintenance beauty lover, these product reviews are for you!

MAC Vamplify Lip Gloss

A bold lip colour is the easiest shortcut in the book for looking glam in a hurry, and they don't come any bolder than the new MAC Vamplify lip glosses ($20 each). If you suffer from dry lips but adore pigmented lip colours like I do, do yourself a favour and swing by a MAC counter this weekend. I'm not usually a fan of lip glosses, but I adore this one. Lots more details and photos after the jump!

Lazy Girl Approved highlights long-lasting, goof-proof, fuss-free products that can fit into the most minimalist of regimens. If you consider yourself a low-maintenance beauty lover, these product reviews are for you!

Multi-use lip/cheek colours

Few products have as much face-brightening impact as a good blush or lip colour, and when they're combined in a single product, even better! More and more companies are catching on to the multi-tasking miraculousness of a lip/cheek colour, which means there are more formulas for you to choose from (and explains why I couldn't narrow this post down to just one).

Dior Eye Reviver Backstage Pros Illuminating Neutrals Eye Palette

If you're the same breed of Lazy Girl I am, you probably don't wear eyeshadow daily because it's too much work. Most mornings, I'd rather hit the snooze alarm one more time than spend those 9 precious minutes searching for all the tools and products I need (primer, brushes, shadows) and tirelessly blending. If I need to primp for an evening out and look fancy in a hurry—well, that's what the Emergency Bold Lipstick is for. Luckily for me and Lazy Girls everywhere, a palette like the Dior Eye Reviver Backstage Pros Illuminating Neutrals Eye Palette ($63) makes the whole eyeshadow ordeal process a little less daunting.
