An Aspiring Minimalist's Christmas Wishlist

This might very well be the most boring blogger's wishlist you're going to see this season. The truth is, there isn't much in the way of material things I want for Christmas. The husband and I are most excited about enjoying a well-deserved vacation together, so instead of getting each other gifts this year we're doing a mini getaway to Harrison Hot Springs for New Year's Day. The items on this list are either consumables or things I'd use everyday.

Blame the exceptionally cold weather or my love of all things cozy, but I'm into David's Tea right now in a big way. To combat insomnia, I've been having a steaming mug of caffeine-free Serenity Now every night, although Genmaicha (a Japanese-inspired green tea with roasted puffed rice kernels) and Buddha's Blend (a fruity white tea blend) are two of my favourites.

My BFF has certainly noticed my David's Tea obsession: She got me the ultimate tea mug I didn't even know I wanted, the Garland Colour Changing Perfect Mug. The lid and built-in stainless steel diffuser are perfect for steeping loose-leaf teas; the mug is oversize, just the way I like it; and the garland of lights on the outside changes colour when hot water is poured in. I'll be sipping tea out of it throughout my entire winter vacation!

The other items on my list are somewhat related to Bar Method. No barre star would turn her nose up at a new pair of grippy socks in her stocking, or a new water bottle as beautiful as the all-gold S'well water bottle. I'm also in the market for a new backpack since I'm sick of carrying everything—daily essentials, breakfast and snacks, workout gear, water bottle, laptop—in a tote and walking about lopsided. The all-black Fjallraven Kanken (which I bought just a couple weeks ago and love!) fits the bill nicely: it's roomy, light, and durable, and the all-black colourway and leather details feel a bit more adult than the typical Kanken.

Finally, in the last year my aromatherapy spending has increased by about a thousand percent, which means anything from Saje would be a welcome gift. The 12 Days of Wellness advent calendar includes goodies I already use and enjoy and those I'd to try, and at $89.95 it's an excellent value.

What's on your wishlist?
