$25 & Under Gift Guide

Self-care gift guide

Christmases come and go, but sticking to a budget never goes out of style. After all, who wants an unpleasant Visa bill surprise come January? This year's $25 and under round-up is more eclectic than previous years' and includes a few great lifestyle and wellness picks as well.

1. The new Eos Aqua Exfoliating Lip Scrub ($12.89) uses sugar crystals, nutrient-rich seaweed and oils to exfoliate and nourish lips. This lip scrub has a higher oil-to-granule ratio than other ones I've tried, which means it's on the gentler side, and I like the fact that it's formulated without parabens, phthalates, mineral oils, petrolatum or formaldehyde. Its blue-and-white packaging and sugary pepperminty smell make it the ideal stocking stuffer.

2. Barre socks were also on last year's $25 and under gift guide, and there's a good reason why they're a repeat pick: barre class addicts will always welcome a fresh pair of grippy socks. Bonus points if you pick up a branded pair from their respective studios. These red-and-pink ones from Bar Method ($20) have larger-than-average rubber grips to help prevent sliding around during planks and thigh work.

3. Got someone on your list who's planning a major trip next year? A pretty passport cover ($22.50) will definitely come in handy.

4. I've had my set of Abeego wraps ($18) for a year and a half now and (pardon the pun) they are the bee's knees. These beeswax-coated cotton wraps warm up from the heat of your hands to self-adhere, and are a reusable, environmentally friendly alternative to plastic cling wrap. Use them to cover bowls; make pouches for snacks or sandwiches; wrap up avocado or seedless watermelon halves in the fridge...the list goes on. Just make sure you handwash them in cold soapy water; warm water will melt the beeswax.

5. Whether your gift recipient is a workout warrior or a self-care maven, all-natural bath salts are sure to be a hit. Rocky Mountain Soap Company's Serenity Wellness Bath Salts ($22) are scented with French lavender, cedar wood, vetiver, sweet orange, ylang ylang, and rose geranium for an extra aromatherapeutic boost.

6. This Voluspa macaron candle ($18.14) is too adorable for words in person. Great as a small gift or a stocking stuffer.

7. The Saje Road to Wellness Aromacar Diffuser Kit ($19.95) clips onto a car vent like a typical air freshener, but lets you diffuse your favourite oil blend. Talk about a lovely all-natural upgrade.

8. An ultra bright selfie light ($22.50), because who doesn't want guaranteed good lighting for phone photos?

  1. Thank you for this!! I'm doing an office secret santa and our budget is $20, so I'm in desperate need of ideas.

    1. You're welcome! I really like #4 and #7 actually; they're pretty good unisex gift ideas and they're practical too.
