Drugstore Delight: Maybelline Lash Sensational Boosting Serum

Maybelline Lash Sensational Boosting Serum

A drugstore lash serum that actually works?! It sounds too good to be true, but that's exactly what Maybelline Lash Sensational Boosting Serum ($10.99 at London Drugs) is. I've been dying to write about this serum (which I received as a PR sample during last year's #LDBeauty event) for ages now, but I needed to wait the minimum 4 weeks to assess the results, and then wait a little longer to see if the serum would help my lashes survive the end-of-growth-cycle fallout.

The formula's nourishing combination of panthenol, hyaluronic acid, and arginine promises to deliver thicker, longer lashes with less fallout. To apply, simply swipe the soft cottony-textured applicator through your lashes as you would a mascara, and then press the brush into your lashline to concentrate the serum at the roots. I've been applying Maybelline Lash Sensational Boosting Serum once daily, and using it on my eyebrows just to see if it would help the sparse spots grow in.

Fast forward 5-6 weeks and the serum has made a subtle but noticeable difference. My lashes are about 1-2 mm longer. Each hair appears thicker, there are more of them in the lashline, and fewer lashes are falling out when I use mascara and my eyelash curler. But the biggest surprise was what this serum did to the bald spots on my inner eyebrows, coaxing new little hairs to grow in spots where no regrowth had occurred in at least 6+ months. I'm so impressed with the results—and at only $10.99, no less! Definitely worth a try.
