I may never have Doutzen Kroes's killer curves or Eva Longoria's sex appeal, but for a limited time at least, I can cop their favourite makeup shades. Launching exclusively for TIFF, the L'Oréal Collection Privée by Colour Riche features four coordinating nude lipsticks and neutral nail lacquers, all inspired by L'Oréal beauty ambassadors Doutzen Kroes, Eva Longoria, Freida Pinto, and Jennifer Lopez.
Overall, Collection Privée is a well-executed limited edition. The Colour Riche lipsticks ($10.99) look much more luxe than their price point thanks to the black-and-gold packaging. The nail polishes ($3.99) are adorably small and easy to store; at that price point and with such appealing shades, it's tempting to just buy the lot. I love the fact that the ambassadors all have different skin tones and ethnicities, which means there's bound to be a shade that works for you.
Doutzen Kroes's lipstick is a cool, sheer pink, while the nail polish is a ballerina pink with very slight shimmer. Both shades are perfect for fair-skinned blondes.
If I had to pick a favourite set of shades out of the bunch, it would have to be Eva Longoria's. The lipstick has just enough pink to complement my naturally rosy lips and brighten up my skin tone, while the dark burgundy nail lacquer seems ideal for fall.
Freida Pinto's lipstick is a bit too mauve-grey to flatter me, but the nail polish is a different story: a rich, sophisticated neutral reminiscent of OPI's 'You Don't Know Jacques'.
J. Lo's Colour Riche is my second favourite: a nice, light nude with just the right amount of pink and gold shimmer to it. Her nail shade—a grey-mauve that looks almost lilac in some lights—isn't so bad either.
So how do the formulas fare? The Colour Riche lipsticks are quite sheer and moisturizing; in fact, because they're supposed to be nude shades and feel so great on, I'd consider them a lipstick-y replacement for your standby lip balm. The nail polishes, meanwhile, boast full colour coverage and high shine with just one coat.
Out of these shades, which is your favourite?
