Latest Outfit: Spring Weekend

MICHAEL Michael Kors jacket | J. Crew silk blouse | H&M lace top | Banana Republic jeans | Benji Frank shades (c/o) | Roots clutch | Nicholas Kirkwood shoes | ILIA lipstick in 'Voila' (c/o)

With spring on my mind, I'm a little too eager to swap my boots for flats, wool trousers for cuffed jeans, and wool coats for light trenches. Too bad Mother Nature doesn't seem to feel the same way. On any given day, the weather can go from sunny to blustery to rainy within a few hours, plus it's still pretty cold to boot. My favourite trick for surviving without donning heavy winter clothes? A couple of insulating layers (in this case, a Uniqlo heat tech camisole worn under a silk blouse and a lined lace top) and a transition-appropriate but warm jacket. I felt very wind-proof and sleek as the boy and I went to Sunday brunch. (Lacking my layering prowess, he shivered and yelped at every gust. Poor boy.)

I'm trying something new with my weekly routine by incorporating more blogging and chores on weekday evenings. Hopefully, packing weekdays full of activities will leave weekends free for the things I want to do. So far, it seems to be working! The boy and I took full advantage of last weekend: shopping downtown, brunch, salsa dancing, sunny strolls in our neighbourhood. I started the work week feeling refreshed and contented. I'm quite keen on keeping up this routine even though the next couple of weeks look pretty daunting.

What do you like to do with your weekends?

  2. that has to be one of the cutest looks i've seen in a while! Lisa, i adore this whole mix. it's feminine, functional and has just the right amount of fashion kick with bright color pops. you're darling!!

i went stocking-less for the 1st time the other day and it felt so good. i was a bit chilly but in the sunshine it was amazing to have the stems exposed a bit. can't wait for more spring warmth to arrive! the weekend you two had sounded terrifically fun :) we, unfortch had to do more packing during our 2 days but i did get a brunch in at Medina with some gf's so all was not lost. ha! happy Monday eve! xo ♥
