Latest Outfit: Merry and Bright

A holiday party look featuring a gold lace dress, Saint Laurent black patent clutch, black tights, and ankle booties.

The boy and I both had our office Christmas parties during the last weekend of November, and even though I was feeling under the weather and skipped mine, we made it to his party on Saturday evening. We managed to last until 11-ish before we called it a night, cabbing home and curling up in PJs by midnight.

Vampy lip, tousled updo, and rose gold jewelry.

Festive attire honourable mentions go out to:

  • Bootlegger, whose gold lace dress I fell in love with while checking out the new Kitsilano W. 4th location. This is just one of the many lovely party dresses and beaded tops available in their 1920s-inspired Temperance holiday 2013 collection—y'know, just in case you want to get into the Gatsby groove for NYE.
  • Shut Up I Love This, who sent me this classy-edgy rose gold spike necklace. Definitely a great resource to check out if you're looking for costume baubles or gifts for girlfriends.
  • The Aveda Institute in Gastown, where educator and stylist Megan Smith tamed my unruly locks into an artfully tousled romantic 'do before the party. (P.S. They're taking appointments for holiday updos now!)
  • That damn orca statue, which probably wins Best Style Blogger Photobomb by an Inanimate Object 2013.
