Today's Outfit: Sugar Plum

Overcast skies, perpetual rain and busy schedules have driven me indoors, so bear with me as I revert back to grainy indoor photos and my little point-and-shoot camera. (I should really get a remote and a tripod for the Lumix.) I wore this outfit on December 30th to attend an evening performance of The Nutcracker. The boy's sister-in-law bought us tickets as a Christmas present knowing that we both enjoyed live ballet. The production was beautiful. And of course, as a fashion blogger, it gladdened my heart to see notoriously casual Vancouver dress up for a change. It seems that live theatre, dance, and opera are the only occasions where people even try anymore.

Madewell ring. Manicure: Deborah Lippmann 'Happy Birthday' layered over OPI 'Kyoto Pearl'.

  8. Gorgeous outfit, Lisa! I love how it is ladylike, prim and proper but injected with fun, whimsical details. That J.Crew shirt is the most beautiful colour. You look great in bright hues!

    Have a great weekend!

  10. I love the colour of your skirt.

I am kicking myself for not buying any Uniqlo camis but I did buy four pairs of skinny pants.

  11. Love that JCrew skirt paired with the yellow, such a cute twist on a classic look.

I've never seen a live ballet, but I made my boyfriend promise that we would eventually see one!

Have a good week Lisa! :)

  13. Very nice color combination, and you know I always love a girl in pearls.

Some say a girl's best friend is diamonds. I think they can be a bit too showy. Pearls are much more understatedly elegant choice.
